In 2003, Nanaimo was recognized by Environment Canada as having the mildest climate in all of Canada. Its temperate West Coast climate allows for moderate rainfall in the winter and dry, sunny skies in the summer months. Temperatures during the summer Cruise season range from 10º C (50º F) to 30º C (86º F).
Airport Information
The Nanaimo airport is located 18 km (11 miles) from the Nanaimo cruise port. Acting as the primary air transportation gateway for central Vancouver Island, there are seven daily flights to Vancouver.
